Nothing made sense. It wasn't for lack of trying on Orion's part, but there were just too many missing facts, too many pieces of the puzzle gone for him to put them back together.

He remembered Cybertron. He remembered the vast halls of the archives and quiet hours of research. He remembered long conversations with a gladiator and their shared dreams of equality. Dreams of a world better than their's, free from corruption. It hadn't been perfect, but it was the only life he'd known.

He looked down at his hands, shuttering his optics. Even his own body was different than he remembered, marred with the scars of battles he didn't fight. If Megatronus hadn't been there, where would he have ended up? A prisoner in a war he'd never known? Offline?

It was a lot to take in.

Megatronus had been welcoming despite the apparent time that had passed, offering him both sanctuary and some small shred of familiarity in this nightmare. It wasn't much, but if he had to be facing this, he couldn't think of a better mech to have at his back.

He wished he could say the same for his crew, however. The heat of their optics made his spark clench; it was hard to ignore the sense that he was missing something important while under their scrutiny, yet another crucial memory robbed from his processor. He'd stayed on the bridge long enough to be polite, but retreated soon afterward.

Surely, in time, the world would start to make sense again. Together with his most trusted friend, he could make some difference now and try to set to right some of the damage that their enemies had caused.
